A Walk Through Bethlehem - December 4, 5, 6

Travel back in time and imagine the small town of Bethlehem 2,000 years ago. Before entering the City of Bethlehem, register your family with the census taker and enjoy the FBC choir as they sing a variety of Christmas songs! Once inside, beware of the Roman soldiers, patrolling the city. Walk the crowded and narrow streets, visit the bustling marketplace and talk with the vendors busy in their shops. See the shepherds watching their flocks by the light of the moon. Listen carefully and you can hear as the villagers talk in excited yet hushed voices about seeing angels and the very special baby who’s just been born. Be aware of miracles occurring all around. But, don’t plan to stay overnight. The inn is full!

A Walk Through Bethlehem is a live re-creation of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the mystery of Christmas as it all began.  This is FBC's Christmas gift to our community.  Admission is free! Invite your family, friends and neighbors!

We will need many helping hands to make our 2010 Walk Through Bethlehem a success. We need volunteers to help behind the scenes,  to be part of our “cast”, to serve hot chocolate, to pray with our guests, and much more. If you are interested in helping in ANY capacity, please sign up at the info booth or contact David Goddard.

Deer Hunter's Chili Supper - November 1

Deer hunting season is a major event in East Texas.  We have a special time of worship for them before opening weekend and it has grown to become an event that attracts men from all over the county.  We serve chili, have a time of worship and give away donated prizes that the hunters can use.

Feed the LISD Staff

For the past several years our church has provided a continental breakfast for all the local school employees on their first day back after the summer. Each year we have over 100 people involved in making this ministry possible and feed over 700 people.

First Family Kid's Fest - October 27

During the Halloween season we have a carnival for children. We usually have 500 to 600 kids and their parents. We involved about 75 volunteers doing construction, and manning booths.  If you would like to help with this outreach contact Kaya Pitts.

Jail Ministry

We have a number of individuals that hold services in our local jail. That provides support for inmates and their families both during and after their release.  If you would like to be a part of this ministry please contact David Goddard.
